Published September 22, 2008

KARACHI, Sept 21: The government is undertaking comprehensive planning for the betterment of the common man, besides tackling the problems of unemployment and price hike.

This was stated by the Adviser to the Chief Minister Rashid Hussain Rabbani while speaking at a programme organized by a welfare trust here.

Food grain, clothes, sewing machines and other items were distributed among the poor and destitute at the gathering.

Mr Rabbani said that benefits of the measures being taken by the government for the betterment of the people would start trickling down to common man soon.

MNA Sahibzada Fazal Karim told the people gathered at the programme that the Islamic economic system envisaged welfare of the masses.

He said that a commission consisting of experts of the Islamic system should be set up to suggest measures to tackle the problems of unemployment and price hike.—APP
