KARACHI, Sept 19: Berthing activity was slow as only one container vessel was accommodated berth during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, two more ships to load cement and offload palm oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Seven ships, Dubai Express, Nordina-G, AI-Qawiyyu, Med Salvador, New Setokaze, Marian and Karolina, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, rapeseeds, palm oil, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 51,830 tons comprising 38,002 tons of import and 13,828 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Marian, Med Salvador and Dubai Express sailed out while New Setokaze was expected to depart.
