ISLAMABAD, Sept 16: Trials to select an eight-member team to participate in the 14th Asian Junior rowing championship will be held at the Rawal Lake on Sunday.

An official of the Pakistan Rowing Federation (PRF) told Dawn on Tuesday that the championship will be held in Hong Kong from Nov 6 to 9.

“All the affiliated units of the PRF are eligible to appear in the trials,” the official said.

He added that both male and female players would be picked to vie in single and double sculls events.

Regarding the past record of the junior rowers, he said, “We bagged fifth position in the 12th Asian Junior Championship held in Singapore in 2005.”

The training camp of the selected rowers will start from Oct 6 at the Rawal Lake.
