PESHAWAR, Sept 15: Police claimed to have arrested three members of a proscribed outfit from a mosque in Tarnab Farm area on Sunday night.

Police said that arrested suspects belonged to proscribed organisation, Jaish-i-Mohammad, and some literature related to jihad was also recovered from their possession.

Police officials said that they received information about the presence of some jihadi elements at Buzarg Ustad Mosque in Tarnab Farm area, on the eastern outskirts of the provincial capital on the jurisdiction of Chamkani police station.

The police raided the mosque and apprehended the three suspects who were identified as Ibadullah resident of Batkhela, Yousaf resident of Kohat and Ilyas resident of Ghufranabad, Chamkani, they added.

The accused were shifted to the CIA centre. It was learnt that during initial interrogation they admitted that they belonged to the proscribed organisation.

They said that they used to highlight the importance of jihad to the people so as to convince them to join their ranks and also give them donations.
