HYDERABAD, Sept 15: The USAID has recommended to the district government increase in number of girls schools, stipends, scholarship and other incentives for girl students and reopening of closed schools with supporting staff.

Director Education Programme USAID Ms Rukhsana Sadiq said at a meeting of district education management team on Monday her organisation had made recommendations through a report for quality of education with public consultations through seminars, workshops and dialogues.

She said that the complete report would be submitted to the district government identifying priorities so that the same could be incorporated in the 2009-10next financial budget.

EDO CDD Shafaat Unnar said in his address that the district government was already concentrating on improvement in the standard of education as such it has converted 210 primary schools into English medium.

He said that in addition, the district government would welcome any technical support or guidance for the improvement of standard of education and advised the management of USAID programme not only to provide a detailed report but also extend other necessary help for implementing the recommendations.

He said that the district government would fully support USAID management for conducting survey for the betterment of education in the district.

He emphasised the need for capacity building of administrative and teaching staff in education department which could bring about improvement in the standard of education. Beside, social mobilisation for girls’ educations was is also needed, he said.
