HYDERABAD, Sept 12: Hundreds of villagers of Goth Sabz Ali Korai, Goth Saeed Khan Mari, Goth Yar Mohammad Mallah, Kolhi Goth, Goth Darimiyan and Goth Naichani Miayan, Latifabad taluka, staged demonstrations outside the DPO office and the press club here on Friday to protest against attempts to force the villagers to leave their houses.

Talking to journalists, they said that they had been given proprietary rights under the Gothabad scheme but they were being harassed by an influential person in connivance with revenue officials and Latifabad police to take over forcible possession of their villages.

They said that they were being threatened with dire consequences if they did not leave their houses. They alleged that false cases had been registered against the villagers and their houses were being raided by police.

They appealed to the authorities to take notice of the matter.
