Arshad shines for Star XI

KARACHI, Sept 9: Star XI stunned Tapal Cricket Club by five runs in an exciting AKG Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament match at the AKG Ground on Monday.

Opener Arshad Azam played the key role in Star XI’s triumph, slamming a brilliant 80 spiced with four towering sixes and six fours to take the man-of-the-match award.

Batting first, Star XI posted 155 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. M. Javed (45) provided excellent support to Arshad. Off-spinner Hanif-ur-Rehman took four wickets for 35.

Tapal CC, in response, were bowled out for 150 on the penultimate ball of the last over. Nomanullah topscored with 33 and Babar Rehman made 30 with the help of six boundaries. Zahoor Khan claimed three wickets for 31.
