QUETTA, Sept 7: All flights to and from the provincial capital remained suspended for the second day on Sunday because of a severe duststorm.

“No flight has landed at the Quetta airport over the past two days due to poor visibility,” a PIA official said.

Road traffic was also affected because visibility was reduced to a few yards. A number of accidents were reported from various parts of the city.

The metrological department said on Sunday evening that the storm would continue for another 12 to 18 hours and the dust would start settling on Monday afternoon.

APP adds: The flights cancelled by PIA are: PK-363 Islamabad-Quetta-Karachi, PK-352 Karachi-Quetta-Islamabad, PK-323 Lahore-Quetta, PK-231 Quetta-Dubai, PK-232 Dubai-Quetta, PK-322 Lahore-Quetta, PK-523 Gawadar-Quetta, and PK-524 Quetta-Turbat.
