SKARDU, Sept 5: Chairman Gilgit-Baltistan United Movement (GBUM) Manzoor Husain Parwana has said the local population of the region is faced with insecurity due to the monopoly of the bureaucracy in the region.

He said if efforts to turn the local population into a minority by settling outsiders in the Gilgit-Baltistan were not stopped the area would see a Fata-like situation. He stated this while speaking to the workers of All Parties National Alliance (APNA) here.

He said to keep Gilgit-Baltistan clear of terrorists, extremists and anti-social elements, strict implementation of the State Subject Rule was necessary.— Correspondent
