LAHORE, Sept 4: The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association chairman Mian Javaidur Rehman said export orders worth hundreds of thousands of dollars were booked during the international carpets exhibition.

Speaking at a reception hosted in honour of the foreign guests at the conclusion of the exhibition here on Thursday he said that carpet traders from USA, South Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Middle East participated in the fair and placed orders for carpets.

He said that the association had decided to hold the exhibition despite the fact that it was advised to postpone it in view of the law and order situation. The government helped the association hold the event and also took care of the foreign guests.

Besides the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Indian, Chinese and Iranian businessmen also helped in making the event a great success.
