RAWALPINDI, Sept 3: A flour mill’s employee was robbed of Rs1 million near the New Town police station on Wednesday, officials said.

Amir Khattab, the robbery victim, told the police that he was on way to office after drawing Rs1 million from a bank in Rehmanabad when three persons travelling in a car intercepted him in D-Block Satellite Town.

“One of the occupants of the car, who was well built and had a crew cut, got out of the car and put his pistol to my head. First, he snatched the keys of my car and then the cash bag lying at my feet and later sped away in their car,” Mr Khattab told Dawn.

He said he worked as an accountant at the flour mill operating in Sihala.

Earlier, a gang of four robbers stormed the house of Zahoor Ahmed in Satellite Town and made off with Rs93,000 in cash and two mobile phones.

Mohammad Rafiq lodged a similar complaint with the Airport police, saying that he was on his way home after drawing his salary from a bank when two persons intercepted him and snatched away his purse containing Rs12,600.

Dr Syed Nadeem Mehmood’s car was stolen from outside his house in the New Town police, Dr Azeem Nasir’s car was taken away by thieves from Westridge, while Khalid Habib’s car was lifted from the Airport police area.
