KARACHI, Sept 3: The 45th meeting of the Committee of Chairmen and Directors of Technical Education (CCDTE) has taken a number of decisions for the uplift of the standard of technical and vocational education in the country.

This was stated by the controller of examinations of the Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Prof Syed Sirajul Islam Bukhari, on Wednesday.

He said that the meeting was held at the SBTE premises with CCDTE chairman M. Saeed Siddiqui in the chair.

The committee approved with some amendments, the recommendations on uniform implementation of Assessment and Promotion Rules for regular courses of Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE), Diploma in Commerce (DCom), Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) and Technical School Certificate (TSC) prepared at the two meetings of controllers of examinations (CEs) of all the technical boards of the country held recently in Karachi.

The meeting also decided to change the eligibility of candidates for admissions to DCom and DBA to ‘D’ grade.

However, for admission to DAE, only those candidates who have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) with Science / Technical or any other equivalent examination with at least 45 per cent marks shall be eligible for admissions.—APP
