MULTAN, Aug 30: The Federation of Punjab Contractors Association has threatened to suspend construction work all over the province if their demands are not met in a fortnight.

Addressing the participants of contractors’ provincial convention on Saturday, federation vice-president Syed Habib Akhtar Shah said that contractors were playing a vital role in the country’s progress, but the authorities concerned were ignoring them.

Federation president Chaudhry Habib Zafar put forward many demands, including payment of price variation with every bill, implementation of rules of price variation, extension in the project completion date in case of delay in the contract agreement, approval of price variation and renewal of total project cost, announcement of ex-gratia according to dearness and implementation of contract agreement of engineering council.
