SUKKUR, Aug 29: A woman was killed by her husband on the pretext of karo-kari in Bashirabad in the jurisdiction of Abad police station near here on Friday.

Accused Kamil Jamali suspected that his wife Lali alias Hajiani, 20, was having illicit relations with someone. On this, he opened fire on her while she was asleep.

Police removed her body to Civil Hospital Sukkur for post-mortem.

On the complaint of Allah Dino Jamali, brother of deceased woman, police registered a case against Kamil Jamali and arrested him.

Meanwhile, a man ‘kidnapped’ his estranged wife from her parents’ house in Garhi village near Mirpur Mathelo.

According to the police sources, Manzooran, wife of Wazir Chachar, appeared before Mirpur Mathelo police in an injured condition, and lodged a complaint against her son- in- law Ali Gul. According to her complaint, Ali Gul along with his accomplices raided her house, tortured the inmates, kidnapped her daughter Shahida and fled.

She told the police that her daughter Shahida was married to Ali Gul four years ago.

She was forced out of her home by his husband a year back and since then she was residing with me.
