LARKANA, Oct 24: Three passengers were injured when highwaymen opened fire on two Karachi bound coaches on Wagan road on late Tuesday night.

The unknown armed robbers sprayed bullets on the coaches heading for Karachi when they ignored the dacoits signal to stop.

The firing deflated one of the tyres of the coach and hit three passengers travelling in. They were identified as — Syed Sahib Rehman, Amanullah Khan and Gul Rehman.

The dacoits later robbed passengers of their valuables travelling in the coach whose tyre had been punctured.

The driver of the second coach speeded to the Wagan police station.

Police arrived at the scene and after an exchange of fire the bandits escaped.

“We have cordoned off the spotted area and soon the results would come”, said the SSP Larkana Ghulam Nabi Memon while talking to this correspondent on Wednesday.

FIR: The Larkana SSP ordered to register FIR against sub-inspector Mashooque Morio former SHO of Fatehpur police station for allegedly missing of arms and ammunition from the ‘Malkhana’.

Police sources said on Wednesday that the sitting SHO of Fatehpur police station Abdul Nabi Rind had reported to the SSP that one Kalashnikov, six single barrel guns, three pistols, 56 cartridges and a magazine along with 25 live bullets were missing from the ‘malkahana’.

The former SHO during deweaponisation drive had registered FIR’s under section 13-D and shown arms and ammunition recovered from the people.

The verification of the deposited arms led to the missing of the certain weapons and live-bullets, cartridges from the malkhana.

The SHO reported the matter to the SSP Larkana who had ordered to register FIR under section 409 PPC for the misappropriation and missing of the weapons from malkhana at the same police station.

Presently, the former SHO of Fatehpur police station was serving in Jacobabad, police sources said adding that after formal registration of FIR the action would be taken against him.

DIED: Maryam Bhutto (4) on Wednesday was run over by an speedy truck near Ghulam Bhutto village. Haidri police have arrested Fazal Muhammed Pathan the driver and seized the truck.
