MIRPURKHAS, Aug 26: The Umerkot district council session was marred by boycott of the PPP-backed Awam Dost members on Tuesday which began with a three-hour delay.

As the resolution for approval of last session’s minutes was tabled, 18 members from Awam Dost opposed it while 18 other members supported it. Later, the resolution was approved by the vote of the convener.

Faqir UC nazim M.Ilyas Rajar tabled an out of turn resolution through which he demanded appointment of internal auditor for the district, suspension of transfers and promotions of officials up to grade 12. He said no further transfers as well as promotions be carried out without prior approval of the District Nazim.
