ARIFWALA, Aug 23: A grower was injured in a clash between fertiliser dealers and landlords over black-marketing of urea here on Saturday.

Police said a local fertiliser dealer on Tehsil Road was black-marketing the urea that infuriated the landlords, who threw out urea bags on the road and set them ablaze. They also burnt used tyres in protest while dealers resorted to aerial firing in retaliation.

Landlords looted the fertiliser shops of Shan Traders and Manzoor and Sons during the clashes while landlord Ghulam Kibria of Chak 53-EB received multiple injuries.

Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the agitators by resorting to baton charge.—APP
