ICI profit up

KARACHI, Aug 22: ICI Pakistan Limited announced the financial results for the quarter and half year ended June 30, 2008 with profit after tax for half year at Rs984 million, showing a growth of 33 per cent over corresponding 2007 figures.

Earnings per share for the quarter and the half year also went up by 35 per cent and 33 per cent respectively. The board approved an interim dividend at the rate of 25 per cent, says a press release.

Despite increasingly difficult business environment net sales income was Rs14.1 billion, registering a growth of 34 per cent over corresponding period of 2007 through a combination of higher volume, better pricing and launch of new products.
