ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: The Election Commission has started making preparations for presidential elections and is expected to announce its schedule in three days.

Commission’s secretary Kanwar Mohammad Dilshad told Dawn on Thursday that administrative arrangements for the polls were under way and nomination papers were being printed.

He said that under the rules, president’s election should be held within thirty days of the vacancy of the office and, therefore, the process would be completed before Sept 17.

He said the commission had already received the notification of Pervez Musharraf’s resignation.
