Two commit suicide

RAWALPINDI, Aug 20: Two persons, including the wife of a soldier, committed suicide in different parts of the city on Wednesday, police said.Fareeha Kausar, wife of Ghazanfar, took her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her house at Kotli Sattian.

According to the police, Fareeha got married some one and a half years ago and had been in distress for the last couple of months because of unknown reasons.

She left a two-page suicide note in which she stated that she had no issues with anyone, even her in-laws and parents. She did not write anything about the circumstances which drove her to take the extreme step. Her body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem.

Separately, an ailing man committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in his house at Dhoke Hukamdad.

Police said Abdul Salam had been under severe stress as he knew that he was suffering from hepatitis, which was incurable. He committed suicide on his bed early Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, two persons were shot and injured in an attempted robbery while five other people were deprived of their vehicles and cash by thieves in different parts of the city on Tuesday, police said.
