Lawyers’ weekly Rally today

Published August 21, 2008

LAHORE, Aug 20: Following the call of the National Action Council, lawyers in the city are set to hold their weekly protest rally on Thursday (today) for the restoration of all deposed judges.

The Supreme Court Bar Association, Lahore High Court Bar Association and Punjab Bar Council have given calls for full-day courts boycott and have invited all political parties, civil society activists and lawyers to participate in the rally. The lawyers intend to keep up pressure upon the coalition government until it restored the judges in accordance with the Murree Declaration of March 9, 2008.

They intend to step up pressure once the 72-hour deadline passed by without restoration of the judges.
