DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 24: Officials of the district education department of D.I.K have been violating service rules and regulations without fear of accountability.

Sources said that the executive district officer of education was issuing no objection certificates (NoCs) to teachers working in other districts for their adjustment in D.I.K. without the approval of the District Nazim or the District Coordination Officer. This practice has deprived many unemployed and trained teachers of the opportunity of various posts in the district, the sources claimed.

According to details, the posts of certificate of teaching (CT), senior English teacher (SET) and drawing master (DM) were converted from the provincial cadre to the district cadre to ease burden on the divisional and district education offices, while posting and adjustment of teachers from one district to another was restricted.

However, district education officers were authorized to adjust suitable candidates from other districts provided there was no qualified candidate available in the district.

A number of qualified CT and DM teachers are waiting for their appointment against vacant posts, but EDO education, D.I. Khan, has issued NoCs to a drawing master of a high school in the Tank district to be adjusted against a vacant post at a school in Bilot Sharif, D.I. Khan.

Similarly, an Arabic teacher of a middle school in the Lakki Marwat district was issued NoC for adjustment against a vacant post at a school in Kotla Qaim Shah, D. I. Khan.

A number of candidates have raised voice against the unjustified adjustments and asked the EDO education to cancel the orders.
