KARACHI, Aug 18: The two matches concluding first week’s play in the ongoing KASB Premier League Football (PLF) saw Karachi Kickers beat Aurora Football Club 3-1 and Mauripur Baloch and Nazimabad Football Club playing a goalless draw here at the National Coaching Centre on Sunday night.

The first match between Karachi Kickers and Aurora FC saw Kickers’ striker Irfan Junejo opening the score for his side in the 40th minute followed by partner Fareed Alam’s two successive goals in the 51st and 63rd minutes.

Meanwhile Aurora FC’s midfielder Nur Ahmed earned a yellow card in the 61st minute. Their consolation goal came in the 86th minute through spearhead Meezan.

The other match between Mauripur Baloch and Nazimabad FC remained barren for the entire 90-minute duration with three players from Mauripur, namely, Sameer Ahmed (29th min), Farooq Rehman (71st min) and Abid Ghafoor (87th min), getting the yellow card.

The third match, between Usmanabad Union and Gulshan Sports Club that was also supposed to take place on Sunday night had to be postponed due to a problem with the lighting system. Decision about whether it would be played later or both teams should share the points will be taken in the coming week.

The next league matches will take place from Thursday to Sunday as all PLF matches are played on weekends.

Thursday’s fixture: Aurora FC v Shazad Mohammadan Malir at National Coaching Centre at 6:00 pm.
