Six-year-old girl raped

KARACHI, Aug 15: A six-year-old victim of sexual abuse was found in bushes near Karachi University on Friday.

Police said that the girl had been raped by unknown men. She was found by a watchman of the university on the main University Road. She was said to be in a precarious condition. He informed the Edhi Foundation who shifted the girl to the Civil Hospital.

Hospital sources said that a medical examination of the girl, who had a high fever, proved that she had been sexually abused.

Police said that while the young girl was telling her name and her father’s name, they were unable to trace her address.

The hospital sources said that doctors were uncertain about the claim of a man who turned up at the hospital and introduced himself as the girl’s uncle.

Meanwhile, police on Friday night recovered an eight-year-old boy who had been kidnapped from Sachal area on Aug 13.

Arsalan, son of a transporter, was recovered during a raid on a house in Sohrab Goth. His captors, identified as Adnan and Nayla, have been arrested, said CPLC deputy chief Shaukat Sulaiman.

A ransom demand of Rs1 million was made by his captors.
