Germans win dressage gold

HONG KONG, Aug 14: Germany have won their seventh straight team gold medal in Olympic equestrian grand prix dressage.

The Netherlands won silver and Denmark the bronze.

Isabell Werth on Satchmo anchored the Germans in Thursday’s event and returning gold medallist Anky van Grunsven the Dutch and will continue their head-to-head battle for the individual medals later this week.

The US team was a pre-Olympics medal contender but falls to a close fourth.—AP
