PPP to chant ‘Go Musharraf go’

Published August 14, 2008

LAHORE, Aug 13: Pakistan People’s Party will hold its ‘Go Musharraf go’ rally in support of impeachment of President General Pervez Musharraf (retired) outside Masjid-i-Shuhada on The Mall here on Thursday (today).

PPP Punjab secretary-general Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas disclosed this after presiding over a meeting held here on Wednesday to review arrangements for the rally. He said that a large number of Lahorites would participate in the rally being organised in accordance with the wishes of Benazir Bhutto who wanted Musharraf to quit presidency.

He said the rally would help government increase pressure on President Musharraf to step down immediately. He said the president stood isolated completely and no country in the world was ready to offer him refuge.

He said the Chaudhry brothers alone were supporting the president to protect their ill-gotten wealth during his dictatorial regime.
