MIRPURKHAS, Aug 12: Scores of lower grade employees of the Education Department Mirpurkhas demonstrated outside the Regional Office on Tuesday, demanding release of their salaries since appointment in 2007.

Led by Ashraf and Waseem, protesters carried banners and placards, raised slogans and demanded release of their 13-month salary. They deplored of being deprived of remuneration though they were recruited according to the government procedure, posted at different posts, and performing duties diligently and regularly.

Later, Regional In-charge Provincial Ombudsman office, Zakir Hussain Jafri talked with the EDO Education Mirpurkhas to resolve their grievances.

EDO Abdul Majeed Hur told reporters that he was investigating the matter of 290 lower grade staff, recruited by previous regime and on completion of formalities their salaries would be released.

However, he added that they would be sacked if their recruitment was found illegal.
