HYDRABAD, Aug 12: Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party chairman, Dr Qadir Magsi, has demanded that the controversial vice chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam, Basheer Ahmed Shaikh should be removed and an inquiry should be initiated against him.

He was speaking to the protesting employees of the university at the Tandojam campus on Tuesday.

He said enough was enough and added that if the vice chancellor was not removed, the consequences will be serious. He deplored the non-payment of salaries to the employees and said that the families of the employees were starving and they were unable to purchase books for their children for the new academic year.

He expressed solidarity with the university employees.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of All Sindh Universities Employees Association, Shabbir Ali Chohan, Nusrat Hussain Channa, Hussain Bux Veesar, Karam Ali Punhoon and other leaders of the Employees Action Committee vowed to continue the struggle till the removal of the vice chancellor.

It may be pointed out here that the university had been lying closed for the last over 40 days and teaching activities have been paralysed but the university chancellor and Sindh government have taken no notice of the crisis.

According to reports, a committee was appointed by the authorities about a week back to probe into the prevailing situation but it was dissolved the very next day.
