NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Aug 11: Teachers and students of a high school, including girls, boycotted classes and took out a rally in Morath near Darbelo on Monday to protest against Hyderabad Electric Company (Hesco).

Teachers and students of the Government High School Morath, led by its headmaster Abdul Wahid Ghanghro and teachers Rahim Bux Abbasi, Shamsuddin Rind and Mushtaq Rind, boycotted classes and took out a rally, burnt tyres and blocked Kandiaro-Tharushah link road for an hour.

They complained that during summer vacations, Hesco men had removed the electric poles and disconnected power supply to the school.

The headmaster of the school told journalists that the Hesco officials, while removing the electric pole near the school, had assured them of installing another pole during the summer vacations as well as restoration of power.

He said that the Hesco men backed out of their commitment and neither installed the pole nor restored the power to the school. They said that students were experiencing tremendous hardship. They demanded of the Hesco high officials to conduct an inquiry into the matter and take action against the responsible officers and restore power supply to the school.
