ISLAMABAD, Aug 9: The selection board of Pakistan Army has recommended promotion of 26 brigadiers to the rank of major general.

Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani presided over the board’s meeting held at the General Headquarters on Friday.

The officers recommended for promotion are: Brigadiers Shahid Hamid Khan (armoured corps), Asif Nawaz Janjua (armoured corps), Syed Tariq Nadeem (artillery), Mohammad Ijaz Chaudhry (artillery), Javaid Iqbal Nasar (artillery), Zahir Shah (engineers), Junaid Rehmat (engineers), Mohammad Azeem Asif (engineers), Mohammad Rafiq Sabir (engineers), Mohammad Khalid (signals), Mohammad Saeed Aleem (infantry), Wasim Sadiq (infantry), Naweed Zaman (infantry), Mohammad Nawaz (infantry), Raza Mohammad (infantry), Khawar Hanif (infantry), Maqsood Ahmad (infantry), Tanveer Ullah Khan (aviation), Niaz Kausar Sheikh

(army services corps), Mohammad Shahid (EME), Obaid Bin Zakria (EME) Zia Ullah Khan (army medical corps), Azhar Mahmud (army medical corps), Mohammad Hamid Akram (medical corps), Asif Ali Khan (medical corps) and Suhaib Ahmad (medical corps).
