KARACHI: Baitul Maal funds

Published August 10, 2008

KARACHI, Aug 9: Disbursement of the 13th instalment of the Food Support Programme under the Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) has started in Karachi after a break of more than a month.

Javed Iqbal, a public relations officer at the PBM head office, Islamabad, told Dawn on Friday that payments to about 7,000 beneficiaries had since been made. The payment of the 13th instalment was due on July 1 but was delayed as the post office authorities were demanding service charges. The issue was settled in a meeting with the director-general of the Pakistan Post on July 15.—Staff Reporter
