BEIJING, Aug 8: Pakistan’s only rifle shooter Mohammad Siddique Umar will be seen in action at the Air Rifle Shooting event of XXIX Olympic Games at the Beijing Shooting Range on Monday, Chef de Mission Syed Aqil Shah said on Friday.

Siddique will appear in 10-meter Air Rifle qualification round on the 11th while on the 16th of this month, he will take part in the 50-metre Air Rifle event qualifiers.

Pakistan’s top skeet shooter Khurram Inam represented Pakistan in the Olympic Games in Sydney and Athens and this time Siddique is making his Olympic debut through a wild-card.

Meanwhile, athletics’ lone wild-card entry Abdul Rashid will take part in 100-metre dash heat on the 16th as well while on the 18th, he will be in action at the 110-metre hurdles qualifiers.

Swimmer Kiran Khan will be starting her Olympic campaign on the 15h with 50-metre qualifiers. —APP
