Nadra chief resigns

KARACHI, Aug 7: The chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority, Brig (retd) Saleem Moeen, is reported to have resigned.

He had been with Nadra for about seven years and his contract was to expire in August 2009.

Highly-placed sources told Dawn that the resignation had been accepted by the prime minister.

They said that a summary for appointing in his place a political person, with business interests in the field of IT and in the UAE and Pakistan, had been moved and might be signed in a couple of days.
