KARACHI, Aug 4: The three Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) matches played at three different venues of Karachi saw Army, Wapda and Pakistan Steel coming out victorious on Monday.

Army defeated National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) 2-0 at the CDGK Stadium.

Michael Masih converted striker Imran Hussain’s pass in the 37th minute and midfielder Mohammad Saeed dodged NBP’s goalie Amir Gul to score in the 44th minute.

In the second match, Wapda earned a penalty kick in the 83rd minute which their experienced striker Khuda Bakhsh easily converted.

The first half of the match which was played at the Peoples Sports Complex remained goalless.

In the third match of the day, Pakistan Steel overcame Punjab Medical College (PMC) 2-1 at the Steel Town Ground.

Punjab Medical College’s striker Ghulam Abbas converted a free kick from the mid-field in the sixth minute of the match.

But Pakistan Steel managed to restore parity ten minutes later when their striker Mohammad Bakhsh succeeded in pushing in a rebound off PMC’s goalkeeper’s legs.

Mohammad Bakhsh scored another goal in the 66th minute helping his side won the match.

Tuesday’s fixtures:

Karachi Port Trust v Pak Elekton Limited at CDGK Stadium at 5.30pm.

Pakistan International Airlines v Navy at Korangi Baloch Stadium at 5.30pm.
