HSBC profit up

KARACHI, Aug 4: Total global operation profit of HSBC Holdings Plc went up by two per cent to $42.912 billion for the first half of this calendar year.

Net operating income before loan impairment charges up by $982 million or three per cent to $39.475 billion.

Second interim dividend for 2008 of $0.18 per ordinary share which, together with the first interim dividend for 2008 of $0.18 per ordinary share already paid, represents an increase of 6 per cent over the first and second interim dividends for 2007.
