LAHORE, Aug 3: On the instructions of Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif, a fresh probe into the Sonia Naz maltreatment case, which happened in Faisalabad a couple of years ago, has been ordered and Adviser to CM and former IGP Jehanzeb Burki has been appointed inquiry officer.

According to a handout issued here, Burki will review the investigation keeping in view various aspects of the case and, if needed, will recommend further action.

Meanwhile, the CM has also taken notice of alleged police shootout in Chakwal and the district police officer (DPO) has been sent on forced leave and a judicial inquiry has been ordered to be conducted by a senior civil judge. A case has already been registered in this connection.
