KHAIRPUR: Man dies in clash

KHAIRPUR, Aug 3: A man was killed and two people were injured in a clash between groups of Odha and Ulra communities which started on Saturday and continued on Sunday.

The rival communities belonging to the Katcha area of Kingri taluka exchanged gunfire on Saturday evening and two people from Odha community — Abdul Khaliq and Dhani Bux — were injured.

Abdul Khaliq was shifted to Sukkur hospital from where he was referred to Larakana but he died on his way to hospital.

The deceased was laid to rest in Qaimuddin Odho village on Sunday under strict security.

Reports said that one Abdul Jabbar of Ulra community was also injured during the gunbattle.

The dispute between the two groups of communities has so far claimed four lives.

The situation is tense in the areas.
