KHAIRPUR, Aug 2: Police claimed to have arrested after encounters three criminals allegedly wanted in a number of cases on Friday evening.

Sources in police said that acting on a tip-off police cordoned off Pir Jo Goth area and arrested Niazoo and Ghulam Qadir Narejo arrested after an encounter in katcha area in the jurisdiction of Abdul Rehman Unnar police station.

Police were told that four criminals were present in the area with intention to commit crime. Police managed to arrest Niazoo and Narejo in injured condition and found two Kalashnikovs in their possession, the sources said.

Thari Mirwah police also claimed to have arrested Akoo Qambrani after an encounter near Thari Mirwah-Akri road. Police said Akoo was wanted in 17 cases including robbery.

Khairpur DPO Ghulam Nabi Memon told journalists on Saturday that an inquiry was being carried out against two arrested criminals of Narejo tribe who were wanted in a number of criminal cases.
