MARDAN, Aug 1: A woman died at the Labour Room of the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital, Mardan on Friday, where the doctors are on indefinite strike in protest against what they called the manhandling of the staff members by the District Nazim, Himayatullah Mayar.

The relatives of the woman, who belonged to Baghicha Dheri, brought the new-born baby to the Mardan Press Club and said that they would register a case against the doctors for their ‘negligence and absence from duty’.

Later, nazims of 75 union councils of Mardan reached the press club and held a press conference. They demanded strict action against the doctors for their boycott.

They said that a meeting of the nazims would be held on August 3 to adopt strategy against the ‘nonprofessional approach’ of the DHQ hospital, Mardan’s staff. They demanded immediate transfer of the whole staff of the hospital.
