35 prisoners released

ATTOCK, July 30: As many as 35 under-trial prisoners, including three women, were released from the district jail on Wednesday against personal surety bonds.

These prisoners were involved in petty crimes. As per district jail administration, the prisoners were released on the orders of Additional District and Sessions Judge Mazhar Hussain Chaudhry during his monthly visit to the jail in the absence of district and sessions judge Attock. Jail Superintendent Syed Babar Ali and Jail Medical Officer Dr Mohammad Ali Shah were also present on the occasion.

He urged the released prisoners to avoid indulging in crime again and take part in healthy activities. Later the judge visited different departments of the jail including women and juvenile barracks, kitchen and hospital.— Correspondent
