LAKKI MARWAT, July 30: Four people including two absconders were killed in an armed clash between two rival groups in Agari Khanzad Khel village in the area of Ghaznikhel police station on Wednesday.

According to reports, two groups clashed over an old blood feud resulting in the killing of Bashir and Gul Aslam from one side and Abdul Rahim and his son Ahmad Khan from the other.

Sources said that Bashir and Aslam were absconders involved in several criminal cases. The police shifted the bodies to the local hospital for postmortem and registered two separate cases. No arrests could be made till filing of this report.

Police reached the site soon after the incident and called the fire brigade of Tehsil Municipal Administration. However, the fire brigade could not reach the place in time. Tehsil Nazim Fareedullah Khan gave Rs4,000 to the poor owner and assured that the TMA would compensate his losses.

PROTESTS: The district chapter of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Wednesday held a demonstration in Serai Naurang city to protest against loadshedding and unabated smuggling of wheat and flour to the tribal region.

JUI-F district chief Maulana Abdul Wahid and tehsil leader Maulana Iezazullah led the protest rally. Nazim Union Council Tajori Maulana Asghar Ali, Naib Nazim union council Landiwah Mufti Ihsanullah, Maulana Bashir Ahmad Haqqani, Maulana Saifur Rehman and Maulana Abdul Ghaffar also participated in the rally. The protesters marched in different bazaars and reached the main Lorry Adda where they culminated into a big gathering. They also blocked the Grand Trunk Road for half an hour.
