HYDERABAD, July 19: The Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) said on Saturday that the reopening of the airport would give a boost to economic activities by providing fast travelling and cargo shipment facilities to industrialists and investors of the city.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the chamber’s president Haji Mohammad Yaqoob said that the absence of fast travelling facilities was one of the factors behind slow pace of industrialisation in the region and discouraged investors’ setting up more industrial units.

He assured the PIA that the reopening of airport would generate a lot of revenue for the national airlines and increase air travelling business.

SAU: The employees of the Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam continued their strike on Saturday and staged a sit-in outside the vice-chancellor’s secretariat.

MPA Pir Amjad Shah Jilani met with leaders of the protesters and assured them that he would apprise the party high command of the situation.
