Rehman excels in U-15 semi-final

KARACHI, July 18: Leg-spinner Abdul Rehman captured six wickets in a superb spell of bowling, steering Zone-IV to the KCCA Inter-zonal Under-15 Cricket Championship final as they thrashed Zone-VI by nine wickets in the semi-final at the Student Ground here on Thursday.

In a low-scoring semi-final, Rehman produced excellent figures of 6-21 in 8.3 overs to help dismiss Zone-VI for a paltry 89 in 36.3 overs.

Zone-IV, in reply, reached the target in 13.5 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Kaleemullah returned unbeaten 31 with four boundaries. Syed Saad finished 23 not out.

In the other semi-final, off-spinner Adeel Anwar claimed four wickets for 26 to set up Zone-V’s seven-wicket win against Zone-VII at TMC Ground.

The final of the tournament will be played between Zone-IV and Zone-V on Sunday at the KCCA Stadium.
