‘Bid and offer’ option

Published July 18, 2008

A SPECIAL trading session was held between 7pm and 8:30pm at the KSE on Thursday, where investors wanting to buy or sell at the closing prices were given an opportunity to bid and offer, through the National Clearing System.

KSE Managing Director Adnan Afridi disputed a suggestion that the information about the session was not made public, saying that it was announced on PA system as well as in the brokers’ emergent meeting. He said that brokers were given three hours, between 4pm and 7pm, to inform their clients. “The number and amount of bids and offers will be sorted out during the night and would be known in the morning”, said the MD. Another broker meeting is scheduled in the morning on Friday, before the start of trading.
