NOWSHERA, July 16: A woman and her son were gunned down in their home in the Khweshgi Payan village on Wednesday.

The police quoted Neelam, daughter of Fazal, as saying that she was home with her mother Shagufta and brother Nadeem when her maternal uncle barged into the house early in the morning and opened fire on them, killing her mother and brother instantly. The motive behind the killing was stated to be a minor dispute which had occurred a year earlier.

The accused escaped the area after the incident. The police registered a case and started investigation.— Correspondent
