HYDERABAD, July 16: Peo-ple should unite on one platform and reject the elements trying to create disappointment in the interest of country, said Speaker Sindh Assembly and acting governor Nisar Khohro, on Tueday.

Speaking at a public meeting in Jamshoro, he said the PPP would come up to expectations and aspirations of masses as it had been voted to rule for five years.

He said the best way to pay homage to Benazir Bhutto was to complete her mission by making democracy stronger.

The nine-year rule of dictatorial regime provided nothing except unemployment, poverty and hunger, said Khuhro emphasising that three months were not enough for the government to change the destiny of people.

He said our sacrifices would not go waste.

District Nazim Jamshoro Malik Asad Sikandar said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto saved the country by giving her life and as such her services to country and for downtrodden would never be forgotten.

People of Jamshoro district, he said, faced lot of repression during the previous regimes yet they voted for the PPP and will ever remain loyal to Bhutto family.

Sindh Minister for Zakat and Ushr, Sajid Ali Junejo said on the instruction of PPP co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, all vacant posts in each and every department will be filled to eliminate unemployment.

Provincial Minister for Food, Agha Taimoor Khan, MPA Dr Sikandar Shoro, Lala Rehman Pathan, Ms Hina Dastagir and others also spoke.

Taking notice of slow-paced development work, District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil, directed concerned engineers and contractors to complete projects within the stipulated period.

He issued the instructions while inspecting under-construction bridges on Phulelli and Pinyari canals, Akram wah, Ghangra Mori bypass and Rani Bagh.

Deputy Project Director HDP, Abdul Haleem Ghori and engineers and contractors accompanied him.

He expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work and directed to carry out the work round the clock for people were facing immense difficulties.
