MUZAFFARGARH, July 15: Four people were injured and three shops gutted when a gas pipeline caught fire and blew up near the railway crossing in Behari Colony here on Tuesday.

A district government official said the pipeline was leaking gas from its joints and it caught the fire when someone threw the butt on it.

The pipeline exploded with a bang leaving Khaliq Dad, Javed, Abul Rashid and Hafeez injured and three shops damaged. The injured were referred to Nishtar Hospital, Multan.
