QUETTA, July 14: The Pakhtunkhwa Students Organisation (PSO) and Baloch Students Organisation (BSO) held separate rallies here on Monday, the former seeking admission to higher educational institutions on the basis of merit and the other on quota basis.

Meanwhile, the condition of BSO supporters Qamar Baloch and Khurshid Baloch, who have been on hunger strike for four days, deteriorated on Monday but they said they would continue the strike till the government allowed their admission to the University of Information and Technology on the basis of quota.

During their procession, the PSO members raised slogans in favour of the merit system.

Ahmed Jan and Kabir Afghan said that they would not accept the unjust quota system for admission. BSO leader Shahzeb Baloch said the government should not play with the lives of the students on hunger strike. He said that admissions must be made at the district level on quota basis. —Correspondent
