LAHORE, July 10: The All-Pakistan Anjuman Tajran has decide to observe black day to express resentment against increase in oil and gas prices and electricity tariff.

A decision to the effect was taken during a meeting of the anjuman held here on Thursday.

Anjuman president Haji Maqsood Butt said traders would wear black bands on their arms and hoist black flags at their shops to protest against the additional burden in the form of increase in oil and gas rates and electricity tariff. He said the government had assumed power with promises to provide relief to the people but had put additional burden on them through the federal budget instead.

Anjuman secretary-general Abdul Razzaq Babar and office-bearers of traders associations Haji Muhammad Ashraf, Mian Tariq Feroze, Naeem Badshah, Khalid Pervez, Babar Mahmud, Haji Tahir Naveed, Mian Khalil, Mian Zaheer, Mian Saeed and Ashfaq Baloch said the common run of people were finding it hard to make both ends meet due to increase in the cost of living as a result of the government policies.
