SHIKARPUR, July 10: Kidnapped engineer Abdul Wahab Shaikh of Khairpur was freed by kidnappers and he reached his home on Thursday.

According to reports, Wahab and his friend engineer Fakhruddin Domki hailing from Naseerabad in Balochistan were kidnapped by dacoits some 25 days ago from the area of Humayoon police station in district Shikarpur.

Fakhruddin died in captivity days ago and his body was handed over to his relatives.

Wahab was freed by the kidnappers on payment of Rs250,000.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs10 million and later they demanded Rs8 million for his release. However, after talks, they settled on Rs250,000.

The kidnappers set the victim free in the forest of Golo Daro.

RANGERS: Sindh Rangers Director-General Maj-Gen Liaquat Hussain has said that a sufficient amount of Rangers personnel had been deployed on various points of National and Indus highways to check criminals’ movement and to keep the roads safe from incidents of highway robberies, firing and looting in district Shikarpur.
